Sydney Desalination Plant

The Sydney Desalination Project was a $1.86 billion scheme to secure Sydney’s water supply and provide an additional 15% capacity to Sydney’s supply network. The Desalination Project is a key component of the States Metropolitan Water Plan.

TSA Management was engaged by Sydney Water to provide the Contract Management services for the delivery of the Sydney Desalination Plant at Kurnell.

TSA’s Management led an Integrated Project Team and fulfilled the functions of the Principal’s Representatives under the D&C and O&M Contracts. In addition to fulfilling the role of Contract Manager, TSA Management provided contract administration, construction surveillance, OHS management, environmental management and compliance management services.

The Desalination project was delivered on time and under budget. Its successful delivery was acknowledged by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) for Excellence in Project Management and awarded the 2010 NSW and National Project Management Achievement Award for projects $100m+.

Internationally, the Desalination Plant was awarded the Global Water Awards, Best Plant of the Year Award (2011). The prize was presented by the former UN Secretary  of the UN, General Kofi Annan, in Berlin.
